From f4b7624eb07a0bf1f95df2927562c76c5dfdc5f7 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Heikki Linnakangas Date: Thu, 20 Mar 2008 10:30:04 +0000 Subject: [PATCH] Add the missing cyrillic "Yo" characters ('e' and 'E' with two dots) to the ISO_8859-5 <-> MULE_INTERNAL conversion tables. This was discovered when trying to convert a string containing those characters from ISO_8859-5 to Windows-1251, because we use MULE_INTERNAL/KOI8R as an intermediate encoding between those two. While the missing "Yo" was just an omission in the conversion tables, there are a few other characters like the "Numero" sign ("No" as a single character) that exists in all the other cyrillic encodings (win1251, ISO_8859-5 and cp866), but not in KOI8R. Added comments about that. Patch by Sergey Burladyan. Back-patch to 7.4. --- .../cyrillic_and_mic/cyrillic_and_mic.c | 21 ++++++++++++++----- 1 file changed, 16 insertions(+), 5 deletions(-) diff --git a/src/backend/utils/mb/conversion_procs/cyrillic_and_mic/cyrillic_and_mic.c b/src/backend/utils/mb/conversion_procs/cyrillic_and_mic/cyrillic_and_mic.c index 1a1349ac1f..fc1c794b53 100644 --- a/src/backend/utils/mb/conversion_procs/cyrillic_and_mic/cyrillic_and_mic.c +++ b/src/backend/utils/mb/conversion_procs/cyrillic_and_mic/cyrillic_and_mic.c @@ -6,7 +6,7 @@ * Portions Copyright (c) 1994, Regents of the University of California * * IDENTIFICATION - * $PostgreSQL: pgsql/src/backend/utils/mb/conversion_procs/cyrillic_and_mic/cyrillic_and_mic.c,v 1.16 2008/01/01 19:45:53 momjian Exp $ + * $PostgreSQL: pgsql/src/backend/utils/mb/conversion_procs/cyrillic_and_mic/cyrillic_and_mic.c,v 1.17 2008/03/20 10:30:04 heikki Exp $ * *------------------------------------------------------------------------- */ @@ -301,6 +301,12 @@ win866_to_win1251(PG_FUNCTION_ARGS) Assert(PG_GETARG_INT32(1) == PG_WIN1251); Assert(len >= 0); + /* + * Note: There are a few characters like the "Numero" sign that exist in + * all the other cyrillic encodings (win1251, ISO_8859-5 and cp866), but + * not in KOI8R.
