Robert Haas 3d14e171e9 Add a SET option to the GRANT command.
Similar to how the INHERIT option controls whether or not the
permissions of the granted role are automatically available to the
grantee, the new SET permission controls whether or not the grantee
may use the SET ROLE command to assume the privileges of the granted
role.

In addition, the new SET permission controls whether or not it
is possible to transfer ownership of objects to the target role
or to create new objects owned by the target role using commands
such as CREATE DATABASE .. OWNER. We could alternatively have made
this controlled by the INHERIT option, or allow it when either
option is given. An advantage of this approach is that if you
are granted a predefined role with INHERIT TRUE, SET FALSE, you
can't go and create objects owned by that role.

The underlying theory here is that the ability to create objects
as a target role is not a privilege per se, and thus does not
depend on whether you inherit the target role's privileges. However,
it's surely something you could do anyway if you could SET ROLE
to the target role, and thus making it contingent on whether you
have that ability is reasonable.

Peter Eisentraut c727f511bd Refactor aclcheck functions
Instead of dozens of mostly-duplicate pg_foo_aclcheck() functions,
write one common function object_aclcheck() that can handle almost all
of them.  We already have all the information we need, such as which
system catalog corresponds to which catalog table and which column is
the ACL column.

There are a few pg_foo_aclcheck() that don't work via the generic
function and have special APIs, so those stay as is.

I also changed most pg_foo_aclmask() functions to static functions,
since they are not used outside of aclchk.c.

Tom Lane b9b21acc76 In extensions, don't replace objects not belonging to the extension.
Previously, if an extension script did CREATE OR REPLACE and there was
an existing object not belonging to the extension, it would overwrite
the object and adopt it into the extension.  This is problematic, first
because the overwrite is probably unintentional, and second because we
didn't change the object's ownership.  Thus a hostile user could create
an object in advance of an expected CREATE EXTENSION command, and would
then have ownership rights on an extension object, which could be
modified for trojan-horse-type attacks.

Hence, forbid CREATE OR REPLACE of an existing object unless it already
belongs to the extension.  (Note that we've always forbidden replacing
an object that belongs to some other extension; only the behavior for
previously-free-standing objects changes here.)

For the same reason, also fail CREATE IF NOT EXISTS when there is
an existing object that doesn't belong to the extension.

Daniel Gustafsson f7c53bb9e3 Consistently use "superuser" instead of "super user"
The correct nomenclature for the highest privileged user is superuser
and not "super user", this replaces the few instances where that was
used erroneously. No user-visible changes are done as all changes are
in comments, so no back-patching.

Dean Rasheed 2bfb50b3df Improve reporting of "conflicting or redundant options" errors.
When reporting "conflicting or redundant options" errors, try to
ensure that errposition() is used, to help the user identify the
offending option.

Formerly, errposition() was invoked in less than 60% of cases. This
patch raises that to over 90%, but there remain a few places where the
ParseState is not readily available. Using errdetail() might improve
the error in such cases, but that is left as a task for the future.

Additionally, since this error is thrown from over 100 places in the
codebase, introduce a dedicated function to throw it, reducing code
duplication.

Extracted from a slightly larger patch by Vignesh C. Reviewed by
Bharath Rupireddy, Alvaro Herrera, Dilip Kumar, Hou Zhijie, Peter
Smith, Daniel Gustafsson, Julien Rouhaud and me.

Tom Lane 7c337b6b52 Centralize the logic for protective copying of utility statements.
In the "simple Query" code path, it's fine for parse analysis or
execution of a utility statement to scribble on the statement's node
tree, since that'll just be thrown away afterwards.  However it's
not fine if the node tree is in the plan cache, as then it'd be
corrupted for subsequent executions.  Up to now we've dealt with
that by having individual utility-statement functions apply
copyObject() if they were going to modify the tree.  But that's
prone to errors of omission.  Bug #17053 from Charles Samborski
shows that CREATE/ALTER DOMAIN didn't get this memo, and can
crash if executed repeatedly from plan cache.

In the back branches, we'll just apply a narrow band-aid for that,
but in HEAD it seems prudent to have a more principled fix that
will close off the possibility of other similar bugs in future.
Hence, let's hoist the responsibility for doing copyObject up into
ProcessUtility from its children, thus ensuring that it happens for
all utility statement types.

Also, modify ProcessUtility's API so that its callers can tell it
whether a copy step is necessary.  It turns out that in all cases,
the immediate caller knows whether the node tree is transient, so
this doesn't involve a huge amount of code thrashing.  In this way,
while we lose a little bit in the execute-from-cache code path due
to sometimes copying node trees that wouldn't be mutated anyway,
we gain something in the simple-Query code path by not copying
throwaway node trees.  Statements that are complex enough to be
expensive to copy are almost certainly ones that would have to be
copied anyway, so the loss in the cache code path shouldn't be much.

(Note that this whole problem applies only to utility statements.
Optimizable statements don't have the issue because we long ago made
the executor treat Plan trees as read-only.  Perhaps someday we will
make utility statement execution act likewise, but I'm not holding
my breath.)

Peter Eisentraut b1d32d3e32 Unify drop-by-OID functions
There are a number of Remove${Something}ById() functions that are
essentially identical in structure and only different in which catalog
they are working on.  Refactor this to be one generic function.  The
information about which oid column, index, etc. to use was already
available in ObjectProperty for most catalogs, in a few cases it was
easily added.

Alvaro Herrera dcb7d3cafa Have LookupFuncName accept NULL argtypes for 0 args
Prior to this change, it requires to be passed a valid pointer just to
be able to pass it to a zero-byte memcmp, per 0a52d378b0.  Given the
strange resulting code in callsites, it seems better to test for the
case specifically and remove the requirement.

Tom Lane 1cff1b95ab Represent Lists as expansible arrays, not chains of cons-cells.
Originally, Postgres Lists were a more or less exact reimplementation of
Lisp lists, which consist of chains of separately-allocated cons cells,
each having a value and a next-cell link.  We'd hacked that once before
(commit d0b4399d8) to add a separate List header, but the data was still
in cons cells.  That makes some operations -- notably list_nth() -- O(N),
and it's bulky because of the next-cell pointers and per-cell palloc
overhead, and it's very cache-unfriendly if the cons cells end up
scattered around rather than being adjacent.

In this rewrite, we still have List headers, but the data is in a
resizable array of values, with no next-cell links.  Now we need at
most two palloc's per List, and often only one, since we can allocate
some values in the same palloc call as the List header.  (Of course,
extending an existing List may require repalloc's to enlarge the array.
But this involves just O(log N) allocations not O(N).)

Of course this is not without downsides.  The key difficulty is that
addition or deletion of a list entry may now cause other entries to
move, which it did not before.

For example, that breaks foreach() and sister macros, which historically
used a pointer to the current cons-cell as loop state.  We can repair
those macros transparently by making their actual loop state be an
integer list index; the exposed "ListCell *" pointer is no longer state
carried across loop iterations, but is just a derived value.  (In
practice, modern compilers can optimize things back to having just one
loop state value, at least for simple cases with inline loop bodies.)
In principle, this is a semantics change for cases where the loop body
inserts or deletes list entries ahead of the current loop index; but
I found no such cases in the Postgres code.

The change is not at all transparent for code that doesn't use foreach()
but chases lists "by hand" using lnext().  The largest share of such
code in the backend is in loops that were maintaining "prev" and "next"
variables in addition to the current-cell pointer, in order to delete
list cells efficiently using list_delete_cell().  However, we no longer
need a previous-cell pointer to delete a list cell efficiently.  Keeping
a next-cell pointer doesn't work, as explained above, but we can improve
matters by changing such code to use a regular foreach() loop and then
using the new macro foreach_delete_current() to delete the current cell.
(This macro knows how to update the associated foreach loop's state so
that no cells will be missed in the traversal.)

There remains a nontrivial risk of code assuming that a ListCell *
pointer will remain good over an operation that could now move the list
contents.  To help catch such errors, list.c can be compiled with a new
define symbol DEBUG_LIST_MEMORY_USAGE that forcibly moves list contents
whenever that could possibly happen.  This makes list operations
significantly more expensive so it's not normally turned on (though it
is on by default if USE_VALGRIND is on).

There are two notable API differences from the previous code:

* lnext() now requires the List's header pointer in addition to the
current cell's address.

* list_delete_cell() no longer requires a previous-cell argument.

These changes are somewhat unfortunate, but on the other hand code using
either function needs inspection to see if it is assuming anything
it shouldn't, so it's not all bad.

Programmers should be aware of these significant performance changes:

* list_nth() and related functions are now O(1); so there's no
major access-speed difference between a list and an array.

* Inserting or deleting a list element now takes time proportional to
the distance to the end of the list, due to moving the array elements.
(However, it typically *doesn't* require palloc or pfree, so except in
long lists it's probably still faster than before.)  Notably, lcons()
used to be about the same cost as lappend(), but that's no longer true
if the list is long.  Code that uses lcons() and list_delete_first()
to maintain a stack might usefully be rewritten to push and pop at the
end of the list rather than the beginning.

* There are now list_insert_nth...() and list_delete_nth...() functions
that add or remove a list cell identified by index.  These have the
data-movement penalty explained above, but there's no search penalty.

* list_concat() and variants now copy the second list's data into
storage belonging to the first list, so there is no longer any
sharing of cells between the input lists.  The second argument is
now declared "const List *" to reflect that it isn't changed.

This patch just does the minimum needed to get the new implementation
in place and fix bugs exposed by the regression tests.  As suggested
by the foregoing, there's a fair amount of followup work remaining to
do.

Also, the ENABLE_LIST_COMPAT macros are finally removed in this
commit.  Code using those should have been gone a dozen years ago.

Alvaro Herrera 61639816b8 Fix error messages
Some messages related to foreign servers were reporting the server name
without quotes, or not at all; our style is to have all names be quoted,
and the server name already appears quoted in a few other messages, so
just add quotes and make them all consistent.

Remove an extra "s" in other messages (typos introduced by myself in
f56f8f8da6).

Andres Freund 578b229718 Remove WITH OIDS support, change oid catalog column visibility.
Previously tables declared WITH OIDS, including a significant fraction
of the catalog tables, stored the oid column not as a normal column,
but as part of the tuple header.

This special column was not shown by default, which was somewhat odd,
as it's often (consider e.g. pg_class.oid) one of the more important
parts of a row.  Neither pg_dump nor COPY included the contents of the
oid column by default.

The fact that the oid column was not an ordinary column necessitated a
significant amount of special case code to support oid columns. That
already was painful for the existing, but upcoming work aiming to make
table storage pluggable, would have required expanding and duplicating
that "specialness" significantly.

WITH OIDS has been deprecated since 2005 (commit ff02d0a05280e0).
Remove it.

Removing includes:
- CREATE TABLE and ALTER TABLE syntax for declaring the table to be
  WITH OIDS has been removed (WITH (oids[ = true]) will error out)
- pg_dump does not support dumping tables declared WITH OIDS and will
  issue a warning when dumping one (and ignore the oid column).
- restoring an pg_dump archive with pg_restore will warn when
  restoring a table with oid contents (and ignore the oid column)
- COPY will refuse to load binary dump that includes oids.
- pg_upgrade will error out when encountering tables declared WITH
  OIDS, they have to be altered to remove the oid column first.
- Functionality to access the oid of the last inserted row (like
  plpgsql's RESULT_OID, spi's SPI_lastoid, ...) has been removed.

The syntax for declaring a table WITHOUT OIDS (or WITH (oids = false)
for CREATE TABLE) is still supported. While that requires a bit of
support code, it seems unnecessary to break applications / dumps that
do not use oids, and are explicit about not using them.

The biggest user of WITH OID columns was postgres' catalog. This
commit changes all 'magic' oid columns to be columns that are normally
declared and stored. To reduce unnecessary query breakage all the
newly added columns are still named 'oid', even if a table's column
naming scheme would indicate 'reloid' or such.  This obviously
requires adapting a lot code, mostly replacing oid access via
HeapTupleGetOid() with access to the underlying Form_pg_*->oid column.

The bootstrap process now assigns oids for all oid columns in
genbki.pl that do not have an explicit value (starting at the largest
oid previously used), only oids assigned later by oids will be above
FirstBootstrapObjectId. As the oid column now is a normal column the
special bootstrap syntax for oids has been removed.

Oids are not automatically assigned during insertion anymore, all
backend code explicitly assigns oids with GetNewOidWithIndex(). For
the rare case that insertions into the catalog via SQL are called for
the new pg_nextoid() function can be used (which only works on catalog
tables).

The fact that oid columns on system tables are now normal columns
means that they will be included in the set of columns expanded
by * (i.e. SELECT * FROM pg_class will now include the table's oid,
previously it did not). It'd not technically be hard to hide oid
column by default, but that'd mean confusing behavior would either
have to be carried forward forever, or it'd cause breakage down the
line.

While it's not unlikely that further adjustments are needed, the
scope/invasiveness of the patch makes it worthwhile to get merge this
now. It's painful to maintain externally, too complicated to commit
after the code code freeze, and a dependency of a number of other
patches.

Tom Lane 9b7c56d6cb Don't record FDW user mappings as members of extensions.
CreateUserMapping has a recordDependencyOnCurrentExtension call that's
been there since extensions were introduced (very possibly my fault).
However, there's no support anywhere else for user mappings as members
of extensions, nor are they listed as a possible member object type in
the documentation.  Nor does it really seem like a good idea for user
mappings to belong to extensions when roles don't.  Hence, remove the
bogus call.

(As we saw in bug #15310, the lack of any pg_dump support for this case
ensures that any such membership record would silently disappear during
pg_upgrade.  So there's probably no need for us to do anything else
about cleaning up after this mistake.)

Peter Eisentraut 8b9e9644dc Replace AclObjectKind with ObjectType
AclObjectKind was basically just another enumeration for object types,
and we already have a preferred one for that.  It's only used in
aclcheck_error.  By using ObjectType instead, we can also give some more
precise error messages, for example "index" instead of "relation".

Tom Lane 382ceffdf7 Phase 3 of pgindent updates.
Don't move parenthesized lines to the left, even if that means they
flow past the right margin.

By default, BSD indent lines up statement continuation lines that are
within parentheses so that they start just to the right of the preceding
left parenthesis.  However, traditionally, if that resulted in the
continuation line extending to the right of the desired right margin,
then indent would push it left just far enough to not overrun the margin,
if it could do so without making the continuation line start to the left of
the current statement indent.  That makes for a weird mix of indentations
unless one has been completely rigid about never violating the 80-column
limit.

This behavior has been pretty universally panned by Postgres developers.
Hence, disable it with indent's new -lpl switch, so that parenthesized
lines are always lined up with the preceding left paren.

This patch is much less interesting than the first round of indent
changes, but also bulkier, so I thought it best to separate the effects.

Tom Lane 8f0530f580 Improve castNode notation by introducing list-extraction-specific variants.
This extends the castNode() notation introduced by commit 5bcab1114 to
provide, in one step, extraction of a list cell's pointer and coercion to
a concrete node type.  For example, "lfirst_node(Foo, lc)" is the same
as "castNode(Foo, lfirst(lc))".  Almost half of the uses of castNode
that have appeared so far include a list extraction call, so this is
pretty widely useful, and it saves a few more keystrokes compared to the
old way.

As with the previous patch, back-patch the addition of these macros to
pg_list.h, so that the notation will be available when back-patching.

Kevin Grittner 18ce3a4ab2 Add infrastructure to support EphemeralNamedRelation references.
A QueryEnvironment concept is added, which allows new types of
objects to be passed into queries from parsing on through
execution.  At this point, the only thing implemented is a
collection of EphemeralNamedRelation objects -- relations which
can be referenced by name in queries, but do not exist in the
catalogs.  The only type of ENR implemented is NamedTuplestore, but
provision is made to add more types fairly easily.

An ENR can carry its own TupleDesc or reference a relation in the
catalogs by relid.

Although these features can be used without SPI, convenience
functions are added to SPI so that ENRs can easily be used by code
run through SPI.

The initial use of all this is going to be transition tables in
AFTER triggers, but that will be added to each PL as a separate
commit.

An incidental effect of this patch is to produce a more informative
error message if an attempt is made to modify the contents of a CTE
from a referencing DML statement.  No tests previously covered that
possibility, so one is added.

Andrew Dunstan b6fb534f10 Add IF NOT EXISTS for CREATE SERVER and CREATE USER MAPPING
There is still some inconsistency with the error messages surrounding
foreign servers. Some use the word "foreign" and some don't. My
inclination is to remove all such uses of "foreign" on the basis that
the  CREATE/ALTER/DROP SERVER commands don't use the word. However, that
is left for another day. In this patch I have kept to the existing usage
in the affected commands, which omits "foreign".

Andrew Dunstan 839cb0649a Use a consistent error message style for user mappings.
User mappings are essentially anonymous, so messages referring to "user
mapping foo on server bar" are wrong, and inconsistent with other error
messages referring to user mappings. To be consistent with existing use,
use "user mapping for foo on server bar" instead.

I dropped the noise word "user" from the original suggestion to be
consistent with other uses.

Tom Lane ab02896510 Provide CatalogTupleDelete() as a wrapper around simple_heap_delete().
This extends the work done in commit 2f5c9d9c9 to provide a more nearly
complete abstraction layer hiding the details of index updating for catalog
changes.  That commit only invented abstractions for catalog inserts and
updates, leaving nearby code for catalog deletes still calling the
heap-level routines directly.  That seems rather ugly from here, and it
does little to help if we ever want to shift to a storage system in which
indexing work is needed at delete time.

Hence, create a wrapper function CatalogTupleDelete(), and replace calls
of simple_heap_delete() on catalog tuples with it.  There are now very
few direct calls of [simple_]heap_delete remaining in the tree.

Alvaro Herrera 2f5c9d9c9c Tweak catalog indexing abstraction for upcoming WARM
Split the existing CatalogUpdateIndexes into two different routines,
CatalogTupleInsert and CatalogTupleUpdate, which do both the heap
insert/update plus the index update.  This removes over 300 lines of
boilerplate code all over src/backend/catalog/ and src/backend/commands.
The resulting code is much more pleasing to the eye.

Also, by encapsulating what happens in detail during an UPDATE, this
facilitates the upcoming WARM patch, which is going to add a few more
lines to the update case making the boilerplate even more boring.

The original CatalogUpdateIndexes is removed; there was only one use
left, and since it's just three lines, we can as well expand it in place
there.  We could keep it, but WARM is going to break all the UPDATE
out-of-core callsites anyway, so there seems to be no benefit in doing
so.

Tom Lane 7afd56c3c6 Use castNode() in a bunch of statement-list-related code.
When I wrote commit ab1f0c822, I really missed the castNode() macro that
Peter E. had proposed shortly before.  This back-fills the uses I would
have put it to.  It's probably not all that significant, but there are
more assertions here than there were before, and conceivably they will
help catch any bugs associated with those representation changes.

I left behind a number of usages like "(Query *) copyObject(query_var)".
Those could have been converted as well, but Peter has proposed another
notational improvement that would handle copyObject cases automatically,
so I let that be for now.

Tom Lane ab1f0c8225 Change representation of statement lists, and add statement location info.
This patch makes several changes that improve the consistency of
representation of lists of statements.  It's always been the case
that the output of parse analysis is a list of Query nodes, whatever
the types of the individual statements in the list.  This patch brings
similar consistency to the outputs of raw parsing and planning steps:

* The output of raw parsing is now always a list of RawStmt nodes;
the statement-type-dependent nodes are one level down from that.

* The output of pg_plan_queries() is now always a list of PlannedStmt
nodes, even for utility statements.  In the case of a utility statement,
"planning" just consists of wrapping a CMD_UTILITY PlannedStmt around
the utility node.  This list representation is now used in Portal and
CachedPlan plan lists, replacing the former convention of intermixing
PlannedStmts with bare utility-statement nodes.

Now, every list of statements has a consistent head-node type depending
on how far along it is in processing.  This allows changing many places
that formerly used generic "Node *" pointers to use a more specific
pointer type, thus reducing the number of IsA() tests and casts needed,
as well as improving code clarity.

Also, the post-parse-analysis representation of DECLARE CURSOR is changed
so that it looks more like EXPLAIN, PREPARE, etc.  That is, the contained
SELECT remains a child of the DeclareCursorStmt rather than getting flipped
around to be the other way.  It's now true for both Query and PlannedStmt
that utilityStmt is non-null if and only if commandType is CMD_UTILITY.
That allows simplifying a lot of places that were testing both fields.
(I think some of those were just defensive programming, but in many places,
it was actually necessary to avoid confusing DECLARE CURSOR with SELECT.)

Because PlannedStmt carries a canSetTag field, we're also able to get rid
of some ad-hoc rules about how to reconstruct canSetTag for a bare utility
statement; specifically, the assumption that a utility is canSetTag if and
only if it's the only one in its list.  While I see no near-term need for
relaxing that restriction, it's nice to get rid of the ad-hocery.

The API of ProcessUtility() is changed so that what it's passed is the
wrapper PlannedStmt not just the bare utility statement.  This will affect
all users of ProcessUtility_hook, but the changes are pretty trivial; see
the affected contrib modules for examples of the minimum change needed.
(Most compilers should give pointer-type-mismatch warnings for uncorrected
code.)

There's also a change in the API of ExplainOneQuery_hook, to pass through
cursorOptions instead of expecting hook functions to know what to pick.
This is needed because of the DECLARE CURSOR changes, but really should
have been done in 9.6; it's unlikely that any extant hook functions
know about using CURSOR_OPT_PARALLEL_OK.

Finally, teach gram.y to save statement boundary locations in RawStmt
nodes, and pass those through to Query and PlannedStmt nodes.  This allows
more intelligent handling of cases where a source query string contains
multiple statements.  This patch doesn't actually do anything with the
information, but a follow-on patch will.  (Passing this information through
cleanly is the true motivation for these changes; while I think this is all
good cleanup, it's unlikely we'd have bothered without this end goal.)

catversion bump because addition of location fields to struct Query
affects stored rules.

This patch is by me, but it owes a good deal to Fabien Coelho who did
a lot of preliminary work on the problem, and also reviewed the patch.

Stephen Frost a89505fd21 Remove various special checks around default roles
Default roles really should be like regular roles, for the most part.
This removes a number of checks that were trying to make default roles
extra special by not allowing them to be used as regular roles.

We still prevent users from creating roles in the "pg_" namespace or
from altering roles which exist in that namespace via ALTER ROLE, as
we can't preserve such changes, but otherwise the roles are very much
like regular roles.

will check for those roles before allowing an upgrade using pg_upgrade.

Alvaro Herrera 59a2111b23 Improve internationalization of messages involving type names
Change the slightly different variations of the message
  function FOO must return type BAR
to a single wording, removing the variability in type name so that they
all create a single translation entry; since the type name is not to be
translated, there's no point in it being part of the message anyway.

Also, change them all to use the same quoting convention, namely that
the function name is not to be quoted but the type name is.  (I'm not
quite sure why this is so, but it's the clear majority.)

Some similar messages such as "encoding conversion function FOO must ..."
are also changed.

Tom Lane 0a52d378b0 Avoid passing NULL to memcmp() in lookups of zero-argument functions.
A few places assumed they could pass NULL for the argtypes array when
looking up functions known to have zero arguments.  At first glance
it seems that this should be safe enough, since memcmp() is surely not
allowed to fetch any bytes if its count argument is zero.  However,
close reading of the C standard says that such calls have undefined
behavior, so we'd probably best avoid it.

Since the number of places doing this is quite small, and some other
places looking up zero-argument functions were already passing dummy
arrays, let's standardize on the latter solution rather than hacking
the function lookup code to avoid calling memcmp() in these cases.
I also added Asserts to catch any future violations of the new rule.

Given the utter lack of any evidence that this actually causes any
problems in the field, I don't feel a need to back-patch this change.

Alvaro Herrera 31eae6028e Allow CURRENT/SESSION_USER to be used in certain commands
Commands such as ALTER USER, ALTER GROUP, ALTER ROLE, GRANT, and the
various ALTER OBJECT / OWNER TO, as well as ad-hoc clauses related to
roles such as the AUTHORIZATION clause of CREATE SCHEMA, the FOR clause
of CREATE USER MAPPING, and the FOR ROLE clause of ALTER DEFAULT
PRIVILEGES can now take the keywords CURRENT_USER and SESSION_USER as
user specifiers in place of an explicit user name.

This commit also fixes some quite ugly handling of special standards-
mandated syntax in CREATE USER MAPPING, which in particular would fail
to work in presence of a role named "current_user".

The special role specifiers PUBLIC and NONE also have more consistent
handling now.

Also take the opportunity to add location tracking to user specifiers.

Alvaro Herrera a2e35b53c3 Change many routines to return ObjectAddress rather than OID
The changed routines are mostly those that can be directly called by
ProcessUtilitySlow; the intention is to make the affected object
information more precise, in support for future event trigger changes.
Originally it was envisioned that the OID of the affected object would
be enough, and in most cases that is correct, but upon actually
implementing the event trigger changes it turned out that ObjectAddress
is more widely useful.

Additionally, some command execution routines grew an output argument
that's an object address which provides further info about the executed
command.  To wit:

* for ALTER DOMAIN / ADD CONSTRAINT, it corresponds to the address of
  the new constraint

* for ALTER OBJECT / SET SCHEMA, it corresponds to the address of the
  schema that originally contained the object.

* for ALTER EXTENSION {ADD, DROP} OBJECT, it corresponds to the address
  of the object added to or dropped from the extension.

There's no user-visible change in this commit, and no functional change
either.

Bruce Momjian 59367fdf97 adjust ACL owners for REASSIGN and ALTER OWNER TO
When REASSIGN and ALTER OWNER TO are used, both the object owner and ACL
list should be changed from the old owner to the new owner. This patch
fixes types, foreign data wrappers, and foreign servers to change their
ACL list properly;  they already changed owners properly.

BACKWARD INCOMPATIBILITY?

Tom Lane 59efda3e50 Implement IMPORT FOREIGN SCHEMA.
This command provides an automated way to create foreign table definitions
that match remote tables, thereby reducing tedium and chances for error.
In this patch, we provide the necessary core-server infrastructure and
implement the feature fully in the postgres_fdw foreign-data wrapper.
Other wrappers will throw a "feature not supported" error until/unless
they are updated.
