This introduces the SQL/JSON functions for querying JSON data using
jsonpath expressions. The functions are:
JSON_EXISTS()
JSON_QUERY()
JSON_VALUE()
All of these functions only operate on jsonb. The workaround for now is
to cast the argument to jsonb.
JSON_EXISTS() tests if the jsonpath expression applied to the jsonb
value yields any values. JSON_VALUE() must return a single value, and an
error occurs if it tries to return multiple values. JSON_QUERY() must
return a json object or array, and there are various WRAPPER options for
handling scalar or multi-value results. Both these functions have
options for handling EMPTY and ERROR conditions.

to_char() has long allowed the TM (translation mode) prefix to
specify output of translated month or day names; but that prefix
had no effect in input format strings. Now it does. to_date()
and to_timestamp() will now recognize the same month or day names
that to_char() would output for the same format code. Matching is
case-insensitive (per the active collation's notion of what that
means), just as it has always been for English month/day names
without the TM prefix.
(As per the discussion thread, there are lots of cases that this
feature will not handle, such as alternate day names. But being
able to accept what to_char() will output seems useful enough.)
In passing, fix some shaky English and violations of message
style guidelines in jsonpath errors for the .datetime() method,
which depends on this code.

Add support of error suppression in some date and time manipulation functions
as it's required for jsonpath .datetime() method support. This commit doesn't
use PG_TRY()/PG_CATCH() in order to implement that. Instead, it provides
internal versions of date and time functions used, which support error
suppression.

This commit adds parse_datetime() function, which implements datetime
parsing with extended features demanded by upcoming jsonpath .datetime()
method:
* Dynamic type identification based on template string,
* Support for standard-conforming 'strict' mode,
* Timezone offset is returned as separate value.

Gen_fmgrtab.pl creates a new file fmgrprotos.h, which contains
prototypes for all functions registered in pg_proc.h. This avoids
having to manually maintain these prototypes across a random variety of
header files. It also automatically enforces a correct function
signature, and since there are warnings about missing prototypes, it
will detect functions that are defined but not registered in
pg_proc.h (or otherwise used).

formatting.c used locale-dependent case folding rules in some code paths
where the result isn't supposed to be locale-dependent, for example
to_char(timestamp, 'DAY'). Since the source data is always just ASCII
in these cases, that usually didn't matter ... but it does matter in
Turkish locales, which have unusual treatment of "i" and "I". To confuse
matters even more, the misbehavior was only visible in UTF8 encoding,
because in single-byte encodings we used pg_toupper/pg_tolower which
don't have locale-specific behavior for ASCII characters. Fix by providing
intentionally ASCII-only case-folding functions and using these where
appropriate. Per bug #7913 from Adnan Dursun. Back-patch to all active
branches, since it's been like this for a long time.
This adds collation support for columns and domains, a COLLATE clause
to override it per expression, and B-tree index support.

warnings. Clean up various unneeded cruft that was left behind after
creating those routines. Introduce some convenience functions str_tolower_z
etc to eliminate tedious and error-prone double arguments in formatting.c.
(Currently there seems no need to export the latter, but maybe reconsider
this later.)
Define a new function, GetCurrentTransactionStartTimeUsec() to get the time
to this precision.
Allow now() and timestamp 'now' to use this higher precision result so
we now have fractional seconds in this "constant".
Add timestamp without time zone type.
Move previous timestamp type to timestamp with time zone.
Accept another ISO variant for date/time values: yyyy-mm-ddThh:mm:ss
(note the "T" separating the day from hours information).
Remove 'current' from date/time types; convert to 'now' in input.
Separate time and timetz regression tests.
Separate timestamp and timestamptz regression test.
- new millisecond (ms) and microsecond (us) support
- more robus parsing from string - used is separator checking for
non-exact formats like to_date('2001-9-1', 'YYYY-MM-DD')

Transform datetime and timespan into timestamp and interval.
Deprecate datetime and timespan, though translate to new types in gram.y.
Transform all datetime and timespan catalog entries into new types.
Make "INTERVAL" reserved word allowed as a column identifier in gram.y.
Remove dt.h, dt.c files, and retarget datetime.h, datetime.c as utility
routines for all date/time types.
date.{h,c} now deals with date, time types.
timestamp.{h,c} now deals with timestamp, interval types.
nabstime.{h,c} now deals with abstime, reltime, tinterval types.
Make NUMERIC a known native type for purposes of type coersion. Not tested.
The PostgreSQL's to_char() is very compatible with Oracle's to_char
now. I hope that to_char's 3000 rows of source is without bugs, but
will good if anyone test it, for me it works very well :-)

family functions. Contain:
conversion from a datetype to formatted text:
to_char( datetime, text)
to_char( timestamp, text)
to_char( int4, text)
to_char( int8, text)
to_char( float4, text)
to_char( float8, text)
to_char( numeric, text)
vice versa:
to_date ( text, text)
to_datetime ( text, text)
to_timestamp ( text, text)
to_number ( text, text) (convert to numeric)
PostgreSQL to_char is very compatible with Oracle's to_char(), but not
total exactly (now). Small differentions are in number formating. It will
fix in next to_char() version.
! If will this patch aplly to the main tree, must be delete the current
